Resize Modes

Letterbox, Hard Crop or Proportional Scale

Pick one of three modes to unify every image to the exact target dimensions, with full control over the canvas and the crop point.

  • Letterbox / Canvas — pads the empty space with a custom HEX color or a fully transparent canvas (PNG/WebP), always centered
  • Hard Crop — fills the target exactly, with a focal point: Center, Top, Bottom, Left or Right
  • Proportional Scale — resizes without adding canvas and without destructive cropping
  • Option to prevent upscaling of images smaller than the target
  • Configurable JPEG quality from 1 to 100%
  • Images already matching the target are skipped automatically

  • Batch size (1–50) and JPEG quality right from the settings screen
Bulk Resize screen with progress bar, statistics and error log
Bulk Processing

Bulk Resize With No Limits

Process your entire library asynchronously: the browser sends small batches while the server always stays within its comfort zone.

  • Fluid progress bar with percentage, counters, elapsed time and estimated remaining time
  • Pause, Resume and Cancel at any moment — no limit to the number of images
  • Timeout protection: time budget per request, adaptive throttle and mutual-exclusion lock
  • Error log (last 50) and session state stored on the server
  • Retries on failure: nothing is lost between batches
  • Imagick engine with automatic GD fallback via wp_get_image_editor()

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Incod Image Dimension Manager.

No. If you enable Keep a backup of the originals, every file is copied to wp-content/uploads/idim-backups/ before being overwritten and can be restored from the Bulk Resize screen, in batches with progress.

The plugin automatically uses GD. The engine is selected through the native wp_get_image_editor() function, so no configuration is required.

No. The bulk process works in configurable batches (1–50 images per request) with no quantitative limit. Every request has its own time budget: images that are not processed yet are simply deferred to the next request.

No. Each batch is interrupted at the time budget, the pause between batches adapts to the load just processed (adaptive throttle), and a mutual-exclusion lock guarantees that only one session works at a time. If a request times out, the plugin retries it automatically.

You can, but it is better to keep it open: the processing loop lives in the browser. The session state is stored on the server anyway and is shown the next time you open the Bulk Resize screen.

Yes. The WooCommerce product is detected automatically among the Custom Post Types and both the featured image and the product gallery are processed, including product variation images.

WordPress 5.0 or later (tested up to 7.1), PHP 7.4 or later and Imagick or GD (almost always already present on any hosting). No external dependencies or third-party services.
